Privacy Policy for Simple Day
Effective Date: May 7, 2026
Welcome to Simple Day. This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when you use our mood journal application. We understand the sensitive nature of journaling and are committed to maintaining a secure environment for your thoughts.
1. Data Collection Philosophy
Simple Day is designed to be a private-by-default application. Unlike traditional social media or cloud-based apps, we do not provide account synchronization or cloud storage services. This architecture ensures that:
- We do not have access to your written notes, mood selections, or uploaded images.
- No personal profile is created for you within our systems.
- Your data is stored locally on your device's internal storage.
2. Third-Party Integrations and SDKs
To support the application's development and provide essential technical services, we utilize several industry-leading Software Development Kits (SDKs). These third-party services may collect certain device-specific and usage data:
Google SDK & Firebase
We use Firebase for technical telemetry and performance monitoring. This includes:
- Crashlytics: Anonymous crash reports to help us identify and fix software bugs.
- Performance Monitoring: Data on app load times and responsiveness to improve user experience.
- Google Analytics for Firebase: Aggregated, non-personally identifiable information regarding how features are used.
Facebook (Meta) SDK
The Facebook SDK is integrated to facilitate app attribution and marketing optimization. It allows us to track the effectiveness of our install campaigns and understand which marketing channels are most relevant to our audience. This SDK may collect device identifiers and app interaction events.
3. Advertising and Monetization
Simple Day contains advertisements to support the ongoing maintenance and development of the app. These ads are served by third-party providers who may use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your interests or general location (IP address). Please note:
- Advertisers do not have access to your personal journal entries or mood data.
- Ad-serving technology is managed by external platforms (such as Google AdMob) according to their respective privacy standards.
4. Permissions and Storage
To function correctly, Simple Day may request permissions to access your device's file system or media gallery. These permissions are strictly used to allow you to save your notes and attach images to your entries. We have no mechanism to "pull" or view these files from our end.
5. Data Security
Because your data is stored locally, its security depends on the security of your physical device. We recommend using your device's built-in security features, such as passcodes, biometric locks, and full-disk encryption, to protect your journal entries from unauthorized access.
6. Children's Privacy
Our application is not targeted at children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any personal information, we do not knowingly interact with children's data. If you are a parent or guardian, please be aware that the third-party SDKs mentioned above may have their own data collection practices for analytics and advertising.
7. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. Any changes will be reflected in an updated version of the app. Continued use of the application after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
